User Guide: Tagging on dartfish.tv
Overview
The online tagging feature allows you to easily tag key moments of a video directly from your web browser on a MAC or Windows computer. This feature streamlines your video analysis process, enabling quick addition and editing of video sequences online, fitting into a process of sharing and creating playlists. This guide will explain how to effectively use the basic features.
Prerequisites
To use online tagging, you need the following:
• A myDartfish 360 S license or higher.
• Access and editing rights on your channel collections on dartfish.tv.
Key Functions
1.Creating a Video Sequence
Tagging allows you to define key moments of a video by specifying the entry and exit points.
To create a new sequence:
1. Position the video: Move the playhead to the beginning of the event.
2. Create a new event:
- Click the "Create a new event" button or press the "n" keyboard shortcut.
- A new event is created with a default duration of 4 seconds and a label "Untitled Event".
3. Adjust the position and duration of the event:
To do this, proceed as follows:
- To modify the start (entry point) and end (exit point) of the event:
- Manually drag the entry and exit points (in green and red below).
- Or position the playhead and use the keyboard shortcuts:
- Shift+i: Set the entry point to the playhead position.
- Shift+o: Set the exit point to the playhead position.
- You can zoom in on the event timeline for more precise adjustments. Note that the zoom factor is saved for future operations.
2. Editing an event
Once an event is created, you can modify its video playback range, details, and associated keywords. These operations are performed in the editing panel displayed on the right side of the video.
To edit an event, click the Edit function (also available in the event context menu) or use the "e" shortcut:
Editing the playback range:
• Move the entry and exit points using the drag controls or keyboard shortcuts to change the duration and position of the sequence.
Editing details:
• Change the sequence title "Untitled Sequence" as desired.
• Select a color (by theme).
• Add a description.
Editing keywords:
• Add existing keywords via the "Add a keyword..." field and the autocomplete feature. Click in the "Add a keyword..." field OR move your cursor to this field with the "Tab" key.
Use the "Space" key to list existing keywords OR start typing the letters of the desired keyword, for example, "Pas" below.
• Create new keywords for existing categories (categories are managed in the keyword manager by the administrator). To do this, click "Create a keyword".
A zone appears at the top of the editing panel: a) select the category and b) enter the new keyword.
• Managing keywords:
- Modify a category keyword a) by deleting the assigned keyword and b) selecting an existing keyword from that category OR typing a new keyword.
- Assign multiple keywords from the same category to a sequence.
- Unassign a category/keyword pair from a sequence.
3. Saving an event
Use the "Save" buttons (Alt+Enter on your keyboard) to save your changes or "Cancel" (Esc) to ignore them. These buttons are located at the bottom of the editing panel.
